This Easter is the first year I have really planned anything ‘Easter-y’ in our household. With Gabriel being two and Willow just one, last year they were too young, but now they seem to understand when it’s a special day, and also they can follow our basic instruction, so I’ve decided to go for it, and plan some egg-citing (sorry..) things.
We don’t eat a lot of chocolate in our house (apart from Nutella..) so I wanted to plan something that wasn’t just chocolate based. I decided that after we go to Church on Sunday, we would have a really nice lunch and, after our friend’s little boys first Birthday party, we will make an Easter Egg hunt for the kids to complete.
The hunt won’t just be eggs though, I’ve bought small chocolate eggs and bunnies (they ADORE bunnies at the moment!) some small books, furry chickens, bigger story books, small tubs of bubbles, colouring books and crayons and also an item of organic clothing from one of my favourite online stores, Kyna Boutique I bought Willow the gorgeous bunny dress as it’s Easter and it’s mega cute, and Gabriel, a tractor print t shirt because his favourite song as playgroup is ‘Jumping up and down on the tractor’ so I think he will love it!
I went to Home bargains, B&M stores as well as the local supermarkets and snapped up the deals early. I bought plastic eggs to hide the non-edible goodies in too, and thought we could use them later for our veggie Bento box ideas! (Because EVERYTHING is Bento at the moment, yes?)
I bought Gabriel and Willow a metal-style Easter hunt basket, simply because I thought they’d be more robust and re-useable each year! (79p well spent? We shall see..)
Today I also purchased a very special ‘Immaculate Eggception’ bath bomb from LUSH. It’s egg shaped, and filled with a surprise Bunny mini bath bomb for added pazazz! At £6 ish it wasn’t the cheapest bath product, but after seeing it fizz, and change colour in the display water today, I just had to buy it for the kid’s Easter bath. Watch this space for their reactions and some photos, it smells divine!
Whatever you have planned this weekend, have a fun time and Happy Easter!
