Last weekend we had a sprinkling of snow here in Yorkshire. We headed out for a little shopping trip and Richard brought along his camera. I thought I would share with you a few of the shots he took whilst we waited for the train. Needless to say, I love the photographs, he has a real talent for capturing both Gabriel’s and Willow’s personalities!
The kids were very excited and pleased to wake up to snow. The car had a decent covering too, which was unusual so I did feel a little bit guilty that there wasn’t really time to play and build snowmen. (Or, have a snowball fight as Gabriel demanded!) We did manage to throw a few snowballs though as we sorted the car out which was fun. Willow attempted to take her snowball with her in the car for safe keeping though, which she soon realised was a bit of a school girl error..
Once we arrived at the station we spotted the snowman. Everyone was delighted. There is something special about a snowman I think, perhaps it’s because we know they won’t last long or maybe it’s just that they have been handmade, which takes an effort. Either way we were pleased to see him and so took the opportunity for some photographs! His name of course, was Olaf.
To whoever built Olaf the snowman, thank you by the way! You very much brightened our day.
Despite the freezing cold weather, we had a really nice afternoon which included shopping, lunch at Zizzi’s and much to the kid’s excitement a train ride into Leeds. There was however a lot of ticket exchanges, seat swapping and location guessing en route but accompanying all this were two smiling faces and that in itself makes shivering very much worth it!
