I’m hugely excited to announce that we have been chosen as Camp Bestival Official Bloggers for 2016. As you’ve likely already gathered, we all love festivals and have worked with many before but as yet, we have never been to Camp Bestival and so are super excited!
Camp Bestival really looks like a fabulous place and for the last few years I’ve been eyeing up the event for us to attend. It’s essentially the little sister of Bestival, and is organised by Radio One along with Rob Da Bank. It’s held at Lulworth Castle in Dorset and this year will be over be weekend of the 28-31st July. Camp Bestival is aimed primarily at families, families that like festival fun, music and the outdoors! Their mantra is simple, a festival that’s friendly for families and small children. Which for me, with two children under 5, is so refreshing!
Camp Bestival features a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the festival. Apart from a 4 days long line-up, the festival offers comedy shows, literature programmes, a kids area, workshops and performances. Food stalls and tents are available all over the festival site and I’ve heard nothing but great reviews!
Food in 2016 will include the Feast Collective. Eating has always been one of the shining stars in our firmament of fest-holiday frolics, so the Camp Bestival team are delighted to announce that there will be food adventures aplenty in Outer Space, with all manner of succulent delights lined-up for this year’s Feast Collective. Supporting some of the best streetfood producers around, each and every one of the gastronauts joining us all at Lulworth Castle this July is pushing culinary boundaries. This year the festival have also asked them to consider their STEPS (Sustainability, Traceability, the Environment and Provenance), all making for what we think is the ultimate taste-fest, and the yummiest food you’re likely to encounter at a festival, how ace does all that sound?
Music wise there is always something for everyone and this year should be no different, with headline acts from Fat Boy Slim, Jess Glynne and Tears for Fears it’s looking like a great event already. Take a look at the line up so far below!
Entertainment wise there will be loads to do, for EVERYONE! With top acts such as Dick and Dom and Mr Tumble for the kids and lots of child friendly festival fun there will be activities ahoy, whatever the weather! Reggie and Bollie will also be joining the entertainment crew and as the days get longer and festival fever starts to take hold, they’ve got news of a whole galaxy of Big Top family entertainment lined up for outer space adventures adventures, plus bounteous trolley-pimping, beard sculpting and dressing-up delights throughout the weekend, all in the idyllic surrounds of Dorest’s Jurassic coast!
There’s much more family-based high-jinx in store with the return of the Camp Bestival Kids Talent Show. Especially for under 16s, and judged by the legendary Pan’s People, the Camp Bestival Kids Talent Show will run each afternoon in the Bollywood Tent. Camp Bestival 2017 family tickets are on offer for the winners, with ace Camp Bestival merchandise for the runners up and best of all, everyone who enters gets a coveted Camp Bestival rosette! There is also the return of the annual Fancy Dress Parade at 1pm on Saturday in the Kids’ Garden. Aliens, rockets, comets, stars and even space-pixies; the options are almost infinite! Camp Bestival have been planning our Outer Space outfits for ages, so make sure you and yours join us for intergalactic dressing up joy 🙂
So that’s it!
