We were very delighted yet again, to be invited to the press showing of St Helens Theatre Royal’s pantomime last night Richard and I took the kids and we had a fabulous time! This Easter their show of choice is Peter Pan and previous X Factor and Dancing on Ice star Ray Quinn has joined the cast. The ultra-talented Liverpool lad swooped in to take on the role and guided us on a magical panto adventure to Neverland!
Ray has joined an all-star cast featuring Laura Gregory as Wendy, Radio City’s Claire Simmo as Tinkerbell, Philip McGuinness as Captain Hook, Charlotte Gallagher as Tigerlilly, Liam Mellor as Smee and Simon Foster as Mrs Smee.
The family pantomime which is based on JM Barrie’s timeless classic about the boy who never grew up. During the Panto we were invited to join Peter, Wendy and the rest of the crew on their adventures through Neverland, we had to watch out though, as Captain Hook was occasionally lurking in the wings, searching for revenge!
We really enjoyed Peter Pan, it is packed full of music, family-fun, glitz, glamour, dance and slapstick comedy- the magical ingredients which have made pantomimes so wonderful for years and years. Gabriel and Willow really loved all the characters and chart hits that are included. They sang, shouted out and danced along, the audience participation is nice, not too overbearing and the atmosphere in the theatre was a very happy one!
The show runs from Friday, 25th March until Sunday, 17th April Tickets start at just £11. For more information, please visit www.sthelenstheatreroyal.com
