Perhaps I am now a certain age, because there has in the last few years certainly been a baby boom within my friends, family and associates that when I pause and look around for a moment, still shocks me. If I am absolutely honest, I often look at my own two toddlers and ask myself ‘How did this happen? I’m a Mummy?!’
But it has. And it’s truly wonderful, and most definitely something worth celebrating.
It’s traditional to welcome a new baby into the world with a gift. It’s first actual ‘Birthday’ present. It’s a celebration and those few weeks are something so special to treasure. The baby is so tiny, so precious and such a beautiful miracle. Whatever gift you choose to mark the occasion, clothing, flowers, champagne (yes please) or a lovely keep-sake, they are always welcome and it’s a joyous way to say ‘Congratulations’.
This post is a collaboration with My 1st Years who, help shoppers choose the perfect gift for the new baby in their lives. Covering all budgets, My 1st Years have all bases covered. Personalisation, beautiful silver and perhaps at the very heart of the company, lovely newborn essentials.
The 1st Years website boast their fabulous range of items, and it’s not just new baby or baby shower gifts. They have expanded into providing gifts to and from all your loved ones, centred around baby. Perhaps one of my favourite aspects of this company is the gift wrapping. I received my order and taken aback at how beautiful the luxury gift box and gorgeous wrapping my product was encased in! It felt like I’d received a gift, rather than just an item launched into a cardboard box from a warehouse.
So whether you are looking for a new baby gift, a christening or birthday present or perhaps a gift to Mummy or Daddy or a loved one from baby, look no further than My 1st Years. Below are a selection of products that I have chosen as my most favourite items from their lovely website.
I love this personalised Bunny Chopping Board which has been designed to inspire all budding little chefs! It is the perfect gift for every young cook so they can grate, chop, peel, serve and let’s not forget the best bit, sample! The chopping board can be personalised with a name or phrase of your choice- which I think is MEGA cute!
This Helicopter money-box would make a perfect gift, practical for saving those pennies, but also would look fabulous in a nursery or child’s bedroom.
Willow’s favourite song at the moment is ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and so I know she would adore this lovely sign for her wall. I think it would add a touch of character and a pretty hint of pink to your little one’s bedroom or nursery.
I have also fallen in love with this Happy Apple Fork and Spoon set. What a different and cute gift this cutlery set makes for a baby and toddler! The cutlery set includes a spoon, and a fork and each piece features an adorable little apple face on the end of the handle. They can also be engraved with the little one’s name or initials, adding that personal touch.
I know two small people who would love this Wooden Noah’s Ark Playset. It’s lovely and colourful and I just love that it can be personalised with a name and also a year! What a fantastic keepsake of your little one’s childhood!
Know any musical babies? Then this wooden personalised xylophone is the perfect gift! Introduce them to the beautiful sounds of this gorgeous pine wood instrument. I think that it would also make a gorgeous decorative accessory for baby’s bedroom until they are old enough to play it!
Finally I have chosen this beautiful Wooden Personalised Rocking Horse. This centuries-old toy has been updated with a modern, colourful model which your little one will spend hours enjoying as they rock back and forth! What’s different about this one which I think is great is that it comes with an adjustable seat back and removable side rails, so your little one can continue to use it as they grow older, and it comes personalised too. A perfect Birthday or Christmas gift!
I have ordered a very special gift for Willow’s Birthday which will form part of another blog post later, but be assured I am absolutely delighted with it, and it’s certainly something I know she will treasure into her adult life so watch this space!
In the meantime, happy shopping with My 1st Years
