For weeks I’ve seen the photographs on Facebook, just like I talked about here of my friend’s lovely children starting school. Well today finally marks Gabriel’s turn. Today is the very special day that Gabriel begins school.
Rather than feeling sad about the end of our toddler era together, the no longer existent midweek days off we will have or the way Willow may struggle at home, without her big brother, best mate and playmate. I’m focusing on the fact that today marks the first day of what I hope will be the some of the best days of Gabriel’s life.
Education is so important. Gabriel will thrive in the structured setting, and he will engage well socially. He’s a bright and creative boy with a great sense of humour that everyone loves. He is funny, really funny and I suspect that his humour, along with his looks will make him popular with the little ladies of his class!
Today marks a change with our home life, our routine and our flexibility. But we will all adapt and I’m looking forward to being a ‘school mum’ at the gates. It’s a new adventure for us all! Wish us luck.
Here is Gabriel, on his first morning of school.
